OT/What Holiday Movie(s) Would You Recommend To Rent?
My DD and I were looking on Netflix yesterday, for a GOOD holiday movie
to get and watch on Christmas Day, which is our tradition, and also one
for New Year's Eve. We go out to dinner early on N.Yrs. Eve, and come
back home, have some appetizers later and sip on Bailey's Irish Cream
(she prefers what I make to the commercial) and there is a LONGGGGGGG
list of movies, that we have never seen. We were looking for a great
classic. Was several "A Christmas Carol" on there, and I don't think
I've seen that movie, and may be the only one that hasn't?! They have
one from the 30's, one from the 50's (they give both 4 stars) and one
from the 90's, that has 31/2 stars. I think that may be our 1st choice,
but not sure which version to order?
Anyway, if you have a particular favorite that you'd highly recommend
for our watching pleasure, please let me know? Thanks for your help.

If you haven't seen it already, the original "Miracle on 34th Street"
that was made in 1947. (Not the newer re-make of the film)

My mother would tell you to watch the "Christmas Carol" version called
"Scrooge" with Albert Finney. I would recommend that animated train
one - voiced by Tom Hanks etc. Someone, help me with the name??? You'd
love it Judy - it's so sweet and touching and very well done.

I totally agree. Eve if they have seen it already, it's worth
watching again. A real human, heartwarming Christmas story. One of
the best films ever made IMO.

Zob - I don't want to give away the ending if someone hasn't seen this
movie but it's that the one where you find out at the end whether
Santa exists or not - by a certain way (prop) that leans against the
wall? I am not sure if I'm getting this movie mixed up with another?

Thanks Vandar - then I too would HIGHLY recommend it Judy. Lovely,
wonderful feel good movie. In fact, I think I'LL watch it again too.
Also Judy - the movie I was thinking about was "The Polar Express".
Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't seen.
I also thought the Jim Carey version of "The Grinch" was very well
done and would recommend that if you like him. He is wonderful playing
"cartoon" characters.
